Turner shuts down high-powered Hawks in first start, Badgers cruise to run-rule win.

Chris Benavidez etched his own chapter in the AC record book to conclude play on Friday as the redshirt freshman hit three homers and tallied seven RBIs – both program-best marks.

The Rudder High School alum and Blinn Community College transfer hit two home runs in the fourth inning and added another in the fifth frame—accomplishing the feat in three consecutive at-bats – en route to the Badgers 17-9 win.

Noah Turner was named a starter for the first time this season and the freshman made the most of his opportunity in game two. The 6-foot-5 righty threw four shutout innings to start the contest before exiting after two outs in the fifth frame.

Turner struck out three batters and allowed no earned runs.

AC pulled away from Howard College via an eight-run fourth inning, which gave the Badgers a 10-0 lead.

The Hawks scored six runs in the top of the fifth to postpone the run-rule stoppage. AC scored three runs in each the sixth and seventh innings to end the game two innings early.

Jan Avila recorded two singles while Prado, David De Hoyos, and Zyon Hamilton had one double apiece.
