Hot start propels NMMI past AC in series opener

The Broncos took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back during the series opener.

NMMI plated five runs in the fifth inning and three runs in the sixth to end the game via run rule.

The home team outhit the Badgers 9-5 and committed half the errors (4-2) as the Badgers.

Seven of the Broncos' nine batters tallied hits in game one.

Chris Benavidez and Prado led AC with two hits apiece during the loss.

Logan Tibbett's record as a pitcher moved to 2-2 after a 4 1/3 stint on the mound. The freshman allowed four earned runs, one walk, and struck out four batters.

Colton Klemke allowed no hits against the two batters he faced in relief.

Evan Peterson started the sixth inning on the hill and allowed one earned run, one walk, and struck out one batter before Remington Spoerl took over pitching duties.
