Injury-ridden Badgers suffer setback against Midland College

Amarillo College was down a pair of starters – middle blocker KayleeJo Underwood and outside hitter Zaiah Buchanan - entering Saturday's WJCAC matchup at Midland College.

The Badger's injury-ridden campaign continued to trend in an unfavorable direction in a three-set defeat (25-21, 27-25, 25-18) to the Lady Chaps during Amarillo College's second conference match.

Staring middle blocker and pin hitter, Jorja Wilson, suffered a knee injury in the second set of the loss and did not return.

The 6-foot-2 Lubbock native is currently tied for the third-highest hitting percentage (.112) and the fourth-highest kill total (59) on the team.

Badger sophomore Addison McLain recorded a season-best three blocks and added three kills.

Defensive specialist and libero, Taylor Irving, had a near spotless performance in the back row. The sophomore tallied all three of her team's aces and had no serve receiving errors or service errors.

Maddison Kellogg led the team in kills with five and had the fourth-highest dig total (10).

The Badgers' record moved to 5-9 overall and 0-2 in conference with the loss. Up next is a home game on Wednesday, Sept. 20 against sixth-ranked Odessa College.
