As Head Coach at Tascosa High School from 2006-2012, Sandel’s 1-5A team made the quarter or semifinals each year, earning the Div. 2-5A District Championship in 2010. At Plano East High School, his coaching acumen improved the team’s win rate for six consecutive years.

In eighteen years of collegiate coaching, his teams have had ten NCAA post-season playoff appearances. In 1991 at Northern Arizona University, Sandel coached the biggest single season turnaround in the nation, and in four years as Head Coach at Boise State University, he led the team from 1-26 to 17-10 the second season.

In the competitive world of club volleyball, every club parent and player in the region knows Scott Sandel. Sandel has been involved in eight different clubs as either the head coach, specialized training director, or director of coaches, with his most recent stint as head coach for the Frisco Flyers. His club teams have won nine regional championships, and he’s trained three of Volleyball Monthly’s Fab Fifty players.
